Now if somebody could lend me their A919 unit, I would be happy to post instructional video on how to root MyPhone A919. ^_^

  32. After rooting, there is no more notification sound. I tried unrooting it but there was an error saying "rm failed...." (su file does not exist). I rooted it again and now there is no sound even on voice calls! Is there anyone who experienced the same? have you solved it?

    ReplyDelete
  33. update on my above comment... After series of restarts, the voice call sound went back but still no notification sound... Is there any app that does this process (monitors notifications then plays the sound instead of the native app)?

    ReplyDelete
  34. You can verify if phone is on silent mode. Also check the setting of your phone under Ringtone and Notifications. Did not experience anything like that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I already solved my problem! Being a newbie on android OS, i forgot that notification tone for sms has a separate setting under the messaging settings which was reset to none after i rooted my phone. All the while i was focused on the notifications under setting/audio profiles... Thanks for the reply, marvs!

    ReplyDelete
  40. @AnonymousSince your phone won't boot successfully, you need to perform system recovery. To do this, shut down your phone first.

Press the Volume (+), Volume (-) and Power button at the same time; and keep pressing them until you see 2 options: Recovery Mode & Factory Mode.

Press Volume (+), you’ll see an Android with a red triangle, tap the Home button to bring you to the Android system recovery.

Using the volume rocker, select "wipe data/factory reset" then tap the Menu button.

Your device will be reset to its factory state and all your data will be erased.

    Hope this helps.

  41. Rooting the has is pros and cons:

    pros:
    install custom ROMs
Backup data and Apps so one click retore after formating your phone; china phones sometimes store alot of system trash after installing and un-intalling(very useful or buy premuim apps to clean this system trash to free space for new app - needs root)

    Cons:

can brick your phone(read! xda forums)
if you remove your battery on rooted phones when the phone hangs/frozen; posibility is ma BRICK ang phone mo...
so no no ang pagkuha sa bat mo when system process is used by an app like uploading photos using instagram, be patient and use reliable internet connections dahil HINDI NOKIA phone yan.

  42. So happy to see reading this Thread.. So far I'm ok pa naman sa Ice cream sandwich. pag siguro patapos na ung warranty saka ako magpapalit. OEM pala si A919? I am now using galaxy note 2 live wallpaper theme kaya feeling ko naka note 2 talaga ako! after buying this unit, 2 of my friends bumili rin sila. Very smart choice.

  43. THanks to his tutorial,

I have rooted my wife's A919 but the LINK2SD app is useless in ICS does not transfer data lib or to External sd but only on Phone storage and Phone storage.

    Here is what you need:

  44. I already tested the A919 with directory bind for my gameloft asphalt6 game

It works with my class 6 sd card; preferred is sd card read&write is equal to sdcard speed; class 10 prefered

I saved 800mb on phone storage with this. the difference on the youtube link i posted is that the DATA directory is (/mnt/sdcard2/) so edit the default path of /sdcard/external_sd/.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Reminder on Directory bind:

When connecting the phone to PC using USB storage you must inactivate the bind/ mount for the USB storage to work properly Or else you have to restart your phone.

    second:
make sure to save the bind database (menu/more/Backup database) as your bind might be lost if restarted.

I have Asphalt 6 and Dungeon Hunter 3 on my phone that works well with it.

with this I can download more of Gameloft games.

  46. any advice? ito po ang error
    /system/bin/sh: chmod: not found
nag factory reset ako then clear wipe cache and dalvik cache, saka ko inApply yung Uncapped update from YONIP(since naka stock rom v1.10 ako),after ko maiApply, nag clear wipe cache/dalvik ako ulit.
    sabay the error starts.
loading lang ng loading yung root explorer, pati titanium back up loading lang.
nung mag try ako ulit mag root thru binary yan na /system/bin/sh: chmod: not found yan na sya.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @AnonymousI have seen the insructions in yonip, you dont have to wipe cache and factory reset... maybe that triggered the error as some files are missing on bin/...
Download the stock ROM of A919 here:
http://chesterjohn.blogspot.com/2013/01/a919-yonip-custom-rom.html via SPtool and repeat everthing starting with rooting your phone.
