The Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 packs a lot of firepower inside its sleek frame. This phone is very thin and light thanks to its form factor making look and feel smaller than what it actually is. It has a white glossy plastic chassis with chrome banding around the sides. The front has clean interface with the absence of any physical button, the 5-inch display takes up most of it. Located at the back is the 12-megapixel shooter with LED flash and has BSI technology capable of 1080p full HD video recording.

Powered by a 1,2GHz quad-core ARMv7 processor by MediaTek, the MT6589, the Omega HD 2.0 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. It has 1GB or RAM and 4GB of internal storage with microSD support for up to 32GB.

Cherry Mobile Blaze 2.0 was officially released yesterday and boy it rocks in terms of features at only Php9,499 (Php500 higher than Omega HD 2.0). It has a beautifully big 5.7-inch IPS HD display that takes up almost the entire front of the phone (or phablet?). There is a physical Home button making this device look like the Galaxy S4 at first glance.

The Blaze 2.0 comes in black with a dark blue banding around the sides while the back comes in smooth matte finish. The 12MP BSI rear camera with LED flash that is capable also of 1080p full HD video recording.

Much of the specs of these two great quad-core phones from Cherry Mobile are the same with the Blaze 2.0 edging the Omega HD 2.0 in terms of screen size, front camera and battery size. Both of these handsets are great so deciding which one to purchase will boil down to your preference.

  2. If the HD2 is priced at 8999 and the Blaze 2 at 9499 shouldn't the price difference be just 500 pesos and not 1500? If this is the case the Blaze 2 for me would be the better deal since for 500 you get a battery with a higher capacity, a bigger screen and a better front camera.
